Campanile di San Marco

The Campanile di San Marco, the majestic bell tower of St. Mark's Square, is the tallest building in Venice at 98.6 meters and offers arguably the most spectacular view of the city and the lagoon. It once served as a lighthouse for sailors, later as a watchtower and bell tower. It collapsed in 1902 but was faithfully rebuilt, true to the motto "where it was and as it was."

Today, an elevator comfortably takes visitors up to the observation deck. From there, visitors are treated to an unforgettable 360-degree view, stretching from the red roofs of Venice to the surrounding islands and the Alps. You can see the Doge's Palace, St. Mark's Basilica, and the entire labyrinth of canals and bridges from above.

The Campanile is especially popular at sunset, when the golden hour bathes the city in a magical light. A visit to the tower is a perfect end to a day in St. Mark's Square and offers a unique perspective on the lagoon city.
